Nonhlanhla met Calvin while out with her friends at the Eastgate Mall. He had been shopping for office stationery and needed a breather.
He popped in at the restaurant where Nonhlanhla and her friends were hanging out, and he liked her the minute he laid eyes on her.
Calvin is a bit old school and he’s taken things a little slow after his previous wife passed away a couple of years ago. It took a while for him to introduce Nonhlanhla to his children. He also believes his woman needs to be respectful, gentle like him and says “apple” and “orange” kind of relationships don’t usually work out.
He was a bit of a nervous wreck when he proposed, even Nonhlanhla admits. They laugh, as he narrates how he took her to a restaurant and at the right moment, knelt down and asked her to marry him. Tonight, they begin their journey as husband and wife.
