Fighting justice, student politics and more!
i

We have been fighting for #JusticeForAnathi, and our very own Palesa Motaung has been leading the revolution. She is currently running for the SRC president in order to push safety on campus and equal rights for women in JU. In plight of all the gender based violence, we stand in solidarity against women and children.

Β We share with the top 10 quotes that are so relevant so right now! Here are all the quotables that have given us life:

1. " If you're good guys like you say you are, why don't you stand together with women...and be the good guy, prove it ?"Β  –  AyandaΒ

2. "Violence against women, cannot be solved by women alone. " –  Kandy

3. "We're not safe on campus, your fight for justice, your fight for your human dignity...is now our fight too. " – PalesaΒ

4. " Over 100 rapes are reported to the police in this country every single day,Β  what's even worse is that nobody is doing anything about it."Β  – PalesaΒ

5. " It's time to say...enough is enough."Β   – PalesaΒ

6. " We're not safe on these streets, we're not safe. " – PalesaΒ

7. " After my friend Anathi got raped on this campus by two men, I have to ask what's more importantΒ  than theΒ safety of women on campus? " – PalesaΒ

8. "Women are not asking for special rights, we want equal rights...the right to feel safe. The right to not worry about being attacked or raped." – PalesaΒ

9. " Female students can only go theΒ to library at night, in groups, or they don't go at all. Male students, don't have to worry about it. That's not fair to equal." – Palesa

10. " Why do we have to pay for male aggression? Anathi should have never, ever had to sit in the same class as her rapists." – PalesaΒ

Isithembiso remains a voice for the issues that are close to the youth. We applaud how relevant the conversations taking place on screen are to South Africa's rape epidemic.Β View your thoughts here:
