Was there ever a great love story that didn’t, at one or many moments, hang in the balance? That didn’t suffer a rocky ride or shameful stares from other loved one’s and onlookers? If anything, our favourite love stories are the ones that are star crossed, troubled, tested. The ones that make it despite the odds.

Without a doubt, Thandeka and Sbu’s love gets us all warm and fuzzy inside. Having faced more than the fair share trials - most notably and recently being hit with the worst dilemma of all; infidelity – the couple slowly but surely found their way back to one another.

Now, it appears history is repeating itself. As much as Thandeka became the daughter-in-law of her father’s arch opponent, Jabu is headed down a very similar path by asking for Zama’s hand in marriage.

Zama, as we all know, is the child of wayward, ungovernable Judas. A man who invaded the Manzini homestead and terrorized Jabu’s entire family. A man who kidnapped his siblings and left Mpiyakhe little choice but to resurrect his inner brute, Mgijimi, in order to find and save his children from the hands of Judas. If Samson Ndlovu was an enemy of the Zungus, Judas was the devil himself and he was still without remorse.

Sadly, however, every action has a reaction and every dog, it’s day. While he viewed himself as invincible, Judas is not untouchable. Indeed his own daughter has touched him, as they say, in his studio. The choice to marry into the Zungu family has thrown him for all he has. Add to this, Zama has disowned her family and her father for the cruelty they inflicted on the Zungus.

Will Judas ever accept Zama’s choice?
