Paxton is taking on Russia!

It has been quite the year for 17 year old, Cape Songbird, Paxton Fielies

13 July 2018

In November 2017, Paxton shot to stardom by winning South African Idols Season 13 followed by a manic touring schedule through to February 2018. March and April were spent working on, writing and recording her debut album, whilst maintaining her busy touring schedule. Mid-rollout of her studio recording, she toured to Sweden for some charity and performance work, which saw her meeting, performing and being honoured by Queen Silvia of Sweden.

Upon her arrival back in her home country, she dropped her Debut album, 'This Is Me' which we reviewed a few weeks back and gave high praise because it's a solid debut effort. The album reached number one on the iTunes Charts on its first day, and the lead single Angifuni has gone on to make waves in the country, playing on high rotation on all major radio stations. She then went on a rigorous promotional tour and now finds herself jet setting off to St. Petersberg, to be a part of Russia’s biggest cultural event, The White Nights of St Petersburg. The festival will broadcast across Russia on their public broadcasting channel and will take place 5 days after the Russian World Cup Final.

Russia is an untapped market for Paxton and she could not be more excited. “It feels like a dream”, she exclaims, “I can’t believe I get to perform some of my new material for Russian audiences and get to see the buzz of the Soccer World Cup aftermath. I really could not be more excited right now”

Paxton is set to arrive back from her excursion on the 24th of July and goes straight into touring with Karyn White in Marmalade Production’s, 'Diva’s 2018'. Johannesburg (27 July), Cape Town (28 July) and Port Elizabeth (4 August) are on the map with this tour and tickets are available from Computicket.
