There’s nothing upsetting as fewer guests than expected showing up at your wedding, or frustrating as the whole community showing up.

I mean, there’s a lot that goes into all the planning and preparing for the big day, but some guests just don’t RSVP!

So, what do you do to try get guests to RSVP? Here’s what:

Send your invitations on time:

It only makes sense to send out your invitations several weeks before the big day. This gives your guests enough time to respond. But remember, too much time and you’ll risk your guests putting your invitation aside for “later”.

Make your RSVP date prominent:

I've gotten invitations where the reply-by date is tiny and in the corner. It’s always wiser to make that date prominent on the response card. For a formal invitation, it should read, "The favor of a reply is requested by [date]." For an informal invitation, you can say, "Please reply by [date]" or "Kindly respond by [date] or even, "RSVP by [date]."

Provide alternative ways to RSVP:

Your guests probably come from all different “walks” of life. Some may be from the older generation and some more youthful, so you need to cater for all. Give them the option of using email, WhatsApp, mobile phone to respond and remember to give them more than one contact they could respond to.

And with that, happy planning and a blessed wedding day!
