Winny came home one day from work in 2011, to find her house had been broken into. She called the police and Zweli, the man she’s marrying tonight, was one of the cops who rushed to the scene.

Zweli wasted no time and made his move. He gave Winny his number and suggested that she asks him out for lunch. She only called him a year later and by that time, she had to remind him who she was, as time had gone by since the last time they met.

Their relationship got serious in 2013 when Zweli asked Winny to inform her parents about his intention to marry her. When Zweli’s representatives in the lobola negotiations showed up at Winny’s house, her parents turned them back, citing that she was too young to get married at that time.

Being the determined man that he is, Zweli did not give up. His family sent representatives for lobola negotiations again in 2015. It was only then that Winny’s family gave them their blessing.

Making tonight extra special is the fact that it’s also Winny’s birthday, so it’s a double celebration!
