Lucky had no idea that accompanying his friend, who went to check up on his girlfriend, would actually lead to meeting Phumlile in 1997.

As with many other couples, they hit it off immediately after they met. However, this wasn’t the case with Phumlile and Lucky, as she avoided every chance to meet up and chat. This was a bit tricky for Phumlile though because her friend was dating Lucky’s friend so she found herself in a bit of a “sticky” situation.

It was only after almost a whole year that Phumlile agreed to date Lucky. She says she was actually impressed by the fact that he was patient. Just like any other relationship, they too have also had their fair share of challenges and at some point, they asked their families to intervene.

Wedding plans were set in motion in 2013 however, Phumlile’s father passed away and they had to postpone. It hit her really hard and that is why their wedding is meant to be a huge celebration for them.
