Project Runway SA Launches with a Bang!
In 2018 watching television with the extended Twitter family is a must. We check out all of the things you had to say about the premiere episode of Project Runway SA.
There would not be a show without the incredibly talented designers that were handpicked from across the country. The first runway clearly proved that these twelve designers are obviously talented but we got more than we bargained for… they are also extremely hilarious!
Lerato Kganyago AKA Mother held down the ship as the presenter of the show. Not only is she lovely to look at but she brings a steady hand to steer the ship. She also flew the fashion flag high lsaying in all of her outfits, did you those boots? LIFE!
After a hiatus from television we are all glad to have the incredible Noni Gasa back on our screens bringing the beauty, class and the grace.
Rahim Rawjee of international men’s wear Row-G dressed Obama, GOALS! We’ve only seen one episode but it definitely seems as though Rahim is going to be the judge with the quotable comments.
At the end of the day it is competition and there can only be one winner, our resident judges Noni Gasa and Rahim Rawjee play the role of good cop, bad cop in perfect balance. Every week promises to bring a secret guest judge and this week started with a bang as
Gert Johan-Coetzee was born for the role of the mentor, he guides the designers without being overbearing and I think we can all admit that we are taking fashion tips for the international designer. Gert is a fashion expert and it we hope the designers take heed of having this fashion heavyweight as their mentor because almost like a premonition, everything that he warned the designers about, the judges noted as error on the designers parts.
In between all of the sewing and measuring, Project Runway SA still managed to squeeze in some fun. Gert’s ABBA reference to eliminated designer, Thokozani TK Mbatha, unfortunately went right over TK’s head. We decided to check with you if you know who ABBA is and it seems TK is not alone.
Did we mention that we trended? No? In case you missed it, you all made #ProjectRunwaySA trend second during the Soccer World Cup Semi-Final! Congratulations and thank you for winning the remote war.
Project Runway SA has got it all! The best designers in the land, formidable judges, an international stylist as a mentor, our mother Lerato Kganyago steering the ship to success, great production value and the best audience in the land!
