Alongside the seven new choirmasters, Mzansi Magic’s Clash of the Choirs has just announced Lawrence Maleka as season three’s new presenter. Maleka who is widely known for his role as Don Webster in Mzansi Magic’s drama series Isibaya, already has a string of entertainment credits to his name.

Originally from Soweto, shortly after launching his entertainment path on Soweto TV’s ‘The Gadget Show’ at age 19, Maleka’s career was catapulted, gaining him numerous notable presenting roles, with many industry peers recently deeming him “the one to watch”. He is more than just a television personality but also an entrepreneur with various business interests. A natural entertainer, Lawrence is passionate about communication and celebrates all that is African.

On being part of the Clash of the Choirs team, Lawrence states, “I think my being included in the show this season is testament to my hard work and perseverance. Working on the show has been exhilarating. I consider myself a professional, so working with such a skilled team has been an absolute pleasure. I’m a big supporter of local talent and therefore support any initiative which bolsters talent, so Clash of the Choirs is a perfect fit for me.”

Sphumelele Sibeko, Head of Entertainment for M-Net’s Local Interest Channels commented on Lawrence Maleka’s inclusion this season, “Lawrence is a fun, dynamic, lively personality – just the type of presenter we were looking for this year, which speaks to the high energy and entertainment that this season is sure to offer.”

This season of Clash of the Choirs promises more twists to the powerful format, alongside bigger prize packages: aside from the R 1 000 000 winners’ prize, R250 000 will go to a deserving charity of their choice.

Clash of the Choirs is set to broadcast in January 2016 on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161). Follow the conversation at www.mzansimagic.tv or on Twitter and Facebook.
