Things have gone from bad to worse to worst for Zweli. What was supposed to be a blessing turned out to be a curse. After learning that Sihle, who he married against all odds, his beloved, was behind an evil plot to murder Qondi, his world fell apart.
It was like a double betrayal. Having survived his own father’s betrayal, who also tried to kill Qondi, he now had to pull another knife out of his back.
In an elaborate plot fuelled by utter greed, Sihle enlisted the help of Nkabinde to destroy Qondi. Sihle saw Qondi as a threat and wanted to be the only queen in Bhubesini. Qondi was saved from Sihle’s witchdraft in the nick of time. But this was the beginning of the end of Sihle and, indeed Zweli.
Acting out against the trappings of being a chief seemed the only way for Zweli to mask his sorrows. And act out he did.
But the fast lane led Zweli into trouble. The kind of trouble that would bring more disgrace to him. Was he under a dark cloud of bad luck? Blade saw this as an opportunity to tell Zweli the truth and hand him a key to freedom.
This means the throne is up for grabs, with Qondi and Queen Mother to fill in in the interim. Who is going to be the next chief of Bhubesini?
