Week in and week out the contestants performing at the live shows have proved why they are the best of the best. But this week the newly unveiled Top 10 showed us why they truly are a force to be reckoned with!
With the thrill of last weekβs selection in their veins and the nerves of what lies ahead on their mind, the Top 10 contestants dug deep to deliver their all as they took to the stage once more to sing for your votes.
There were no guest performances either to give them an extra moment or two to gather themselves. Instead it was straight into the lime light and first up was Nosipho who showed us just how talented she is as she gave a fresh new spin to Lady Zamarβs βCollideβ.
Without a moment to spare, Mthokozisi took to the stage next and laced his luxurious vocals onto Maxwellβs βAscensionβ, even daring to ditch his rich baritone in exchange for a shot at Maxwellβs signature falsettos!
The air still electric from two killer opening performances, Lincoln then did his thing with a signature captivating performance of Ringoβs all time classic, βSondelaβ that had the crowed as bright and jovial as his outfit!
Xae then kept it closer to home as she performed Idols alumni, Shekhinahβs βPlease Mrβ with her usual added flair, twist and trademark runs!
To take us to the half way mark for the night was Niyaaz who sang with sweet soul as he crooned Ed Sheeranβs βPerfectβ in near perfect form himself.
It was off to church though soon after as Ntokozo had everyone singing and shouting in praise with her riveting performance of gospel gold, βFill Me Upβ by Tasha Cobbs.
An eager to perform Thato then unleashed his inner pop star as he spiced up local hit βI Got Youβ by Encore to an adoring audience.
With the night inching towards a close, it was Thandoβs turn. She wasted no time in paying perfect homage to the late great Aretha Franklin as she belted out her timeless classic, βNatural Womanβ.
The penultimate performance honors went to King B who gifted fans with his hallmark larger than life showcases when he took on Rihannaβs βLove On The Brainβ.
This set the perfect platform for the youthful Yanga to wrap up the evening with performance that was nothing short of amazing as she tackled another Idols alumni gem, βAmazuluβ by Amanda Black.
With all said and done, the toughest task now falls on you the fans as itβs up to you to make sure one of these rising stars secures a Top 9 spot!
