The past few weeks have been tough for the Khoza and Maake families. With Harriet's arrest, everything seemed to fall apart for the Khoza family whereas it was easy sailing on the Maake side. Now, with Harriet a free woman, the old order of things holds. Amo and Kagiso, however, remain apart. Take a look at the rollercoaster relationship of lovers Amo and Kagiso...and how they almost made it.
Budding Young Love
Their love started off with Amo saving Kagi's life...and his wanting to thank her over a dinner date. Kagiso's plan did not work...the first time. Who knew that his budding feelings would turn into intense love.
First Kiss
With a little patience and persuasion, the young couple slowly began lighting the fires of their love. However, there were always signs that it would not be easy. From Kagiso's line of work, to Amo's love for her work, her over-protective father and his murderous mother...it was not quite a match made in heaven.
Ugly Sister
Not ugly in the physical sense, but Kea was anything but welcoming of Amo when Kagiso first vrought her home. She was quick to highlight all the differences between her brother and his new girlfriend from the other side of town. However, Amo is not the kind of girl to back down from a challenge and took her head-on. It proved to be a major sign of the difficulty their relationship would face.
3 Break ups and counting...
Amo and Kagi's relationship put a new meaning to the phrase "Break up to make up" with every down warranting they stay apart and every up pushing them to give it another shot.
Kagiso broke up with her when he found out her brother, Mogapi had kiled his father:
They got back together and then decided to stop seeing each other to protect their families
When they got back together again, Amo broke up with Kagiso after her father told her that his mother had killed Mogapi
Kagiso tried everything to get back together with her, including his first attempt at distancing himself from his family. It was only being kidnapped by Somali rebels and Harriet going broke to raise the $2,5-million ransom money that Amo realised how much she loved him. When he returned safely, thye got back together. And the rollercoaster began again.
Harriet was arrested for cocaine dealing, only days after Kagiso had reassured Amo with a lie, that his family did not deal drugs. To save his mother, he faked leaving his family and proposed to Amo and she accepted his proposal.
Was his proposal to her real? Did he ever love her? To free his mother from jail, Kagiso went undercover as a disgruntled som who wanted his mother to pay for her coiane dealing and the mother of his father. However, it was all an act. With Harriet free, Kagiso may have put the final nail in the coffin of his relationship with Amo. Amo finds herself broken-hearted again. Kagiso thought maybe, his union with Amo could bring the two families together, but his own folly ended any prospect of that.
Is it officially over for Amo and Kagi? Can Amo ever forgive Kagiso for the turmoil he and his family have put her through? Is their love the only thing that can bring the two families together?
