Nothing has been quite the same since Harriet's arrest. Now, it seems that the queen has identified the need for a new leader to unite the Khoza family, and she is not thinking about the obvious, and often, regretful choice of Shaka. This time, Kagiso is the queen's chosen one. But who has what it takes to rise to throne's challenges...Shaka or Kagiso?
Shaka:
There is no doubt that Shaka is a warrior, in spirit and in his actions. From the beginning he has not been one to shy away from challenge, even if it might have been wise for him to do so. He has zero tolerance for traitors, he is quick to act, he is intimidating and he has freely surrended himself to the illegal dark world of the cocaince business.
Remember when he unashamedly brought a debtor to his father on the day of sister's wedding without flinching?
However, Shaka's modus operandi is always to search, sniif out and draw blood. It is what he always resorts to, including when he thought Kagiso had betrayed the family. A trait that may have done him well in the past but has also cost him in others. Like the days after his father's death, when he announced that he would take over the Khoza cocaine business over agame of golf, and beat up on of the most important suppliers - Dollar. A mistake Shaka soon paid for.
Shaka has made it clear that he will not take Kagiso's leadership lying dow, but he has also shown that he has a soft spot for his brother and family.
Is Shaka ruled by his temper? Or in the dirty business of cocaine dealing, is a violent and ruthless demeanour exactly what is need?
Kagiso:
In comparison to Shaka, Kagiso is a boy scout. He has the idealism required for those in the defence force coupled with a non-existent desire for illegal activity. However, his personality and family are ill-matched and he has come to find that the apple does not fall too far from the tree.
To get his mother out of jail, he faked a marriage proposal to the so-called love of his lfe and then went on to utterly betray her and ruin her father's career. It would seem that Kagiso is no goodie-two-shoes but more strategic than his half-brother Shaka and his mother.
Kagiso has broken hearts, come close to breaking the law and lost his entire career trying to get his drug-dealer mother out of jail...knowing she fully deserved to be locked-up according to the law.
Kagiso is not only willing to put aside his own needs and sacrifice himself for the family, but he is also a tough nut to crack.
Does Kagiso's training as a soldier and pilot make him the better choice to run the Khoza's covert cocaine business? Or is he masking just how soft he is for the task?
Queen Harriet has made her choice and only time will tell whether Kagiso is the best man for the job. That is, his brother Shaka willing to keep him alive long enough for him to give a good try. Are you Team Shaka or Team Kagiso?
