It's nothing novel, we've all either heard or experienced it - the boy who likes a girl and doesn't know how to express it terrorises her to get her attention. As common as it is on the primary school playground, it seldom woks for young adults. Siphesihle and Nkosana became the exception. Unable to handle the heat that Siphesihle's smile inginited in his heart, Nkosana's response was to chase her around holding the one thing that she feared the most: a rat!

It worked, and the two not only started a romantic relationship, but they also became the best of friends, a friendship that they mnaged to keep, nurture and grow over the 9 year span of their relationship before Nkosana asked for her hand in marriage.

It would be a friendship that Siphesihle would need, as her parents separated at a young age and left her to be raised by her great grandmother, who passed away when Siphesilhle was only 16. She left a void in Sphe's heart and life. Sphe had never known parental love, so she had clung to the love her grandmother lavished her with.

However, Nkosana came into her life just in the nick of time, and his love slowly healed Sphe, who admitted that the only other person in whose love she had radiated was her late great grandmother. So close are the couple that they planned every single aspect of their wedding together, including the traditionally bridal things like the wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses. They don't see that as unorthodox, just a natural consequence of having a love that feels like friendship that caught fire.
