Idols SA: Top 10 quotes so far!

There are so many hilarious characters our Judges have run into already

Let's face it, while we're all here for the mesmerising talent Mzansi has to offer, the fascinating people we run into while we're on the road make Idols something truly special. We're only halfway through Auditions and already there've been plenty of quotable quotes! Here are some of our faves so far.

10. "I'm that relative that's from the Suburbs"

We didn't expect Xolisa's Audition to become a feature film but thanks to Somizi's brilliant directing and quick wit, we got one of the most memorable moments of the season so far!

9. "We are the wedding"

The Judges were pretty much in agreement that 19 year old Duwayne had no future as a wedding singer but Somizi threw him a curveball when he suggested he become an insta model instead before this iconic moment happened.

8. "That dress has got to go"

Thokozile made it through to Theatre Week but not before getting roasted by Randall for the outfit she auditioned with. We leave it to you to decide if this was a fashion sin or not but in her defence she said she was "trying to go vintage."

7. "You're a train wreck of a singer!"

While Randall's certainly not known for sugarcoating anything this diss he fired at Amogelang certainly stopped him in his tracks! (no pun intended)

6. "I'm ready start!"

Tebatso left Somizi buzzing with her powerful, lyric soprano but couldn't win over the rest of our Judges. What she did nail however was the confidence and attitude! Many watching were feeling her singing too.

5. "Do you do drag? . . .You should."

Somizi wasn't blown away by the singing but felt Cresswill was definitely fierce enough to cut it as a Drag Queen. We bet he didn't see that one coming at all because we certainly didn't.

4. "Chinese doesn’t have “ga”!"

Caiphus delivered one of the more notorious Wooden Mic moments of the season, singing in a made up language and calling it Chinese. Somizi was on to him though.

3. "Can you play the piano? No, but I can try!"

Busisiwe gives a whole new meaning to the term, "can do attitude" and honestly, it inspires.

2. "It’s a never!"

Given how often Wooden Mic contenders become repeat offenders on Idols, maybe it's time to make this slogan a recurring thing.

1. "I’m here to kill the Judges!"

Words fail! What will become of our poor Judges? Lucky for all of us we won't have long to wait till we learn their fate. Make sure you're watching Mzansi Magic this Sunday when Durban fights to take back its crown. Did we miss anything that left you in stitches?
