Durban leaves Twitter shook!
NjabuloIdols

So… last night, the Idols bus headed down to the coast – and what a treat it was. From incredible talent and unforgettable Wooden Mic contenders, to a controversial guest judge who is no stranger to getting fired at every turn. Get into some of Mzansi’s favourite moments below. And trust us, there were many!

Ayanda knocking on heavens door

Last night, we witnessed history unfold in front of our very eyes. Beautiful thespian, Ayanda, decided to forego the whole barging into the Audition Room thing. We present to you the knock heard all across South Africa. Shook on all levels!

Phat Joe

All hail the ‘Prince of the airwaves’. Our favourite motor mouth was so entertaining on the judging panel, Mzansi is already calling for him to do this forever and a day. Why? There was bolting out of the Audition Room to give someone a Golden Disc, funny one-liners, hiding under tables and a whole lot of other shenanigans that made us chuckle.

Sister Bettina makes an appearance

No one “espeded it”. Sithabiso was the hero brave enough to audition using Black Twitter anthem - “Sister Bettina” by Mgarimbe.

Njabulo and his “foreign flava”

“African American” Njabulo pulled off the same of the century by talking the talk and not necessarily walking it. Scammed!

Somizi playing doctor

We were all sitting there minding our business when professional optometrist Ndumiso walked into the Audition Room. Almost immediately, Somizi’s fantasies of becoming an ENT specialist surfaced – and in the blink of an eye, he was prodding at Ndumiso’s larynx.

Dr SomGaGa in action

We obviously can’t detail them all, so tell us what your fave moments from the Durban auditions were, why dontcha? Thanks for watching and engaging!

Idols SA airs on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) every Sunday at 17:30.
