To honour Ahmed Kathrada's memory, several channels on the DStv platform will be paying tribute to this great leader.

The leadership and employees of the MultiChoice Group are saddened by the passing of Ahmed Kathrada. To honour his memory, several channels on the DStv platform will be paying tribute to this great leader over the coming days.

“Ahmed Kathrada was undoubtedly one of our most respected struggle heroes – a man of honesty and unquestionable integrity. He leaves an extraordinary legacy and we’re humbled to play a small part in honouring him,” said Imtiaz Patel, CEO for Video Entertainment, Naspers.

DStv customers can find tributes on the following channels:

  • SuperSport Blitz is running an obituary throughout the day – DStv channel 200, available to all DStv customers
  • kykNET and kykNET & kie  will run an obituary in eNuus this evening at 7pm – DStv channel 144, available to DStv Premium and Extra customers and channel 145, available to DStv Premium, Extra, Compact and Family customers
  • kykNET will have a special insert in kykNET Verslag tonight at 9:30pm – DStv channel 144
  • kykNET will also air the episode of Sandra op ‘n Drafstap with a dedicated interview with Ahmed Kathrada, on Sunday 2 April at 8pm – DStv channel 144
  • Mzansi Magic will air the documentary Ahmed Kathrada: A man for all seasons at 9:30pm tonight – DStv channel 161, available to DStv Premium, Extra and Compact customers
  • M-Net will air Carte Blanche which will commemorate his life on Sunday, 2 April at 7pm – DStv channel 101 and 901 an hour later, available to all DStv Premium and M-Net analogue customers
