Laughter, tears and "spiritual things"

It's standard procedure that #IdolsSA is Sunday's top trend and that couldn't have turned out any different after what Pretoria served up

People young, old and from every walk of life in our nation's Capital showed up in their numbers last night! It just wouldn't have been PTA without a dance off which is exactly how our contestants kicked off the show, much to the delight of all watching.

In total, 18 people are set to go through to Theatre Week which means Pretoria's officially beat out Cape Town. That said, the Wooden Mic contenders also showed up in droves both terrorising and delighting us right from the onset. Tebogo Moeletsi set the ball rolling (in the wrong direction?) walking into her audition sucking on a Halls for her ailing throat. Unsta was kind enough to hold it for her while she sang but it seems her noble gesture was in vain.

Caiphus came through next. His Audition went so badly that Randall and Somizi simply told him to "get out"! His back-up plan? Singing an allegedly "Chinese" song instead.

The shenanigans didn't stop there leading Somizi to described the day's proceedings as "a downward spiral" but it seems Pretoria had saved their finest singers for last. Blessed, Diego, Hadassah and Ofentse were amoung the faves of the night with the latter two getting four yeses from our Judges! South Africa gave them a resounding thumbs up too.

Next on our radar is Durban and Phat Joe will be our Guest Judge. Will they reprise their title as the city with the most Golden Tickets recipients? All will be revealed this Sunday! For now, share your fave moment from last night's show with us down below.

Idols SA airs on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) every Sunday at 17:30
