Set in the city of gold, The Mayor is a comedy series that plays on political satire about a flamboyant mayor of Jozi who is trying to secure a third term in office while running a demanding polygamous family. OJ Mabunda, has to keep a growing family together while trying to cope with running Africa’s richest and largest fictional city, Jozi. With the help of Mercia, his longtime confidant and spokesperson as well as the newly appointed fish out of water Chief of Staff, Martin Shai, OJ Mabunda has to ensure that he makes it to a third term despite certain elements that don’t want him to be mayor, like his City Manager, Lucinda Le Roux.
